The Library is housed at the ground floor of the College building and caters to the information needs of the students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the Government Ayurveda College, Tripunithura. The collection comprises books; journals back volumes, periodicals, theses, digitized documents and CD-ROMs.

(i)Circulation section

Membership

Admission to the library is restricted to members only. Library membership is opened to students, teachers and non-teaching staff of Government Ayurveda College, Tripunithura. On special request, outsiders are also admitted for a short period for reference with permission from the Principal.

First year students should collect a data sheet from the library and fill in the data sheet along with a passport size photograph should submit to the Librarian for getting the ID card. Identity Card is required for book transaction.

(ii)Reference section

A vide range of books having reference nature is kept apart for reference. Books belonging to this section shall on no account be taken away from the library by students. However, on certain occasions with the special permission of the librarian these books will be issued overnight.

Closed Reference

A collection of costly books, thaliyola/ palm leaves and old back volumes of journals are kept in this section. Books belonging to this section shall on no account be taken away from the library. It can be referred only with the permission of the staff on duty.

(iii) Digital Library

D-Space Digital Repository Library is implemented under MP’s Local Area Development Scheme 2011-12 of Prof. K.V.Thomas, M.P, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India. It is the first Digital Library in Government Ayurveda Colleges in Kerala.

(iv) Internet services

Internet services are provided in 5 computer terminals in library hours and. charge is .Rs.10/- per hour

(v) OPAC

The Library is using multi user integrated library management software –SOUL. The software is developed and provided by INFLIBNET, UGC. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is available in 4 computer terminals.

(vi) Reprographic service

  • Photocopies- charge : Ps.75 per copy
    • Printing from Digital Library Documents and Internet

(vii) Book Bank section

A collection of books purchased from the grand of SC/ST department. Usage is restricted to SC/ST students.
