Fundamental Principles& History

Samhita Samskrita Siddhanta is a core foundational subject in BAMS curriculum and plays a vital academic clinical and professional role.Samhita Samskrita Siddhanta is important among the fourteen departments of the Government Ayurveda College, Tripunithura. It introduces students to classical Ayurvedic text (Brihatrayee and Laghutrayee) in their original Sanskrit form. It helps students to understand basic ayurvedic terminologies, concepts and philosophical principles. It also teaches fundamental doctrines of ayurveda such as Tridosha Siddhanta, Panchamahabhoota Siddhanta, Samaanya Visesha Siddhanta etc. This department also trains students in attaining Sanskrit proficiency, thereby enabling accurate comprehension of Samhitas. This department plays an important role in strengthening the ability to apply classical references during diagnosis and treatment.
