Paediatrics

Kaumarabhritya, one among the Ashtangas of Ayurveda, is functioning as an independent department in the Puthiyakavu Hospital campus. The department is efficiently handling the pediatric cases in an Ayurvedic platform. The Kaumarabhrithya department, therefore, is concerned with the health of infants, children and adolescents, their growth and development and their attaining full potential as adults.

The Kaumarabhrithya department has an independent out patient and in patient unit. The OPD of the department functioning 7 days a week is in the ground floor of the new hospital complex. The medical issues of the neonates, infants, toddlers and children  till adolescence form the working arena of the OPD. Frequent health problems include diarrhea, vomiting, skin infections, bala visarpa, malnutrition, respiratory infections, worm infestation, rheumatic fever, infectious diseases, school backwardness etc.
